Indian Stretchable Time

Mind Our Temper - When we are confronted with bureaucracy and IST (Indian "Stretchable" Time), we need to keep our cool.

Schedules are bound to go awry and government offices are notoriously inefficient, so there's simply no point in losing in us losing our temper. We'd be well advised to adopt a similar attitude with wealthy and "important" Indian men who, as a matter of course, cut into line. Rather than fly into a rage, we need to point out the lack of consideration firmly and earnestly or, better still, smile beatifically and practice a meditation technique.                  From: Frommer's India     Click on this : The ish watch

  1. On the land portion of our Alaska/Yukon tour last year we were told that these areas run on "ish" time too.

  2. Does Mexico have the same "ish" time?

  3. I'll let you know more in May, though I don't think there will be a lot of "ish" in our shore excursions. I know they have "maňana" (tomorrow), and if one were to spend time in the country and/or with the people there would likely be the Spanish equivalent of "ish".
